Our Mission

Autism Awareness Events

HURAA aims to raise autism awareness within Harvard University through various advocacy events. We believe that by educating students and the wider community about autism spectrum disorder, we can foster a more accepting and inclusive environment.

Social Connection

Every Friday night, HURAA provides a community space for families with autistic children in Cambridge and Boston. We believe that by bringing people together, we can build a stronger and more supportive community.

Advocacy

HURAA is dedicated to advocating for the needs of autistic individuals. We believe that by amplifying the voices of those affected by autism, we can create a more just and equitable society.

How We Work

Harvard Undergraduate Raising Autism Awareness (HURAA) is a student group committed to community service, awareness, and outreach.

Our mission is, first and foremost, to raise autism awareness by building community. We work to bring together people from the autistic community, people influenced by autism in any capacity, and people hoping to learn more about autism, in settings that produce meaningful conversations.

To this end, we hold weekly social events for local teens with autism and special needs through our partnership with the non-profit Friday Night Club. It is a uniquely wonderful experience for our volunteers and teens alike!

Events include movie nights, ice skating, museum visits, and sensory-friendly music performances. Whether you are a student looking to get involved, or a parent of a child with autism, we can't wait to get to know you!
